David Heeley and Peter Banks met at Leicester College of Art in 1962

Both studied interior design and in 1966 they formed Banks Heeley Plastics. They were early pioneers in Perspex fabrication, being one of the very first design teams to work with this new material. Their first collection filled the windows of Harrods and Liberty, and their iconic designs went on to be sold worldwide to high award winning acclaim.
